Every team member is an essential part of our Morris Packaging team. As we expand our product offerings and our business grows, we continue to need highly motivated and trained individuals to join us as Press Operators at Morris Packaging.

A Flexographic Wide Web Press Operator prepares a printing press for a print job, operates and monitors its progress, and maintains the press to function properly.

The Press is a computer-controlled machine that cuts, shapes, and designs various materials. Operating and managing a press involves adjusting ink, speed, and temperature settings. The Operator must also mix inks, change out press plates, and ensure there is enough ink and materials for the production to run. Other primary duties include troubleshooting machines during any malfunctions or irregularities fixing machine parts as needed to ensure the machine runs smoothly. The Press Operator is also responsible for running regular quality control checks on the machines they are working on.

The Press Operator position is an intregal part of our team, and we have the best of the best in the industry. Our team member Carolyn is not only a RockStar Press Operator at Morris Packaging, but a wife and mom to three beautiful girls, and one on the way. Carolyn has nine years of experience under her belt and brings a wide range of experience and leadership to our team. When asked how she has navigated a predominantly male industry, she said, “I have three daughters at home, and I’m trying to raise them to dominate the world.” Furthermore, “Morris supports me in everything I do. Even when I told them I was pregnant, they have made sure that I’m taken care of.”

Carolyn has been working in this industry since she was 17 years old. When asked how she balances such a physical job with being a mom and expecting a new baby in May, she proudly communicated that it was because of the support of her husband, the Morris Packaging work culture, and her coworkers.

Carolyn is truly proud of her role on the Morris team and loves to share how much she loves her coworkers. Carolyn told us “It’s nice to wake up and not dread going to work. The 12 hour days aren’t so hard when the people you work with are so great.” Carolyn also commented on the infectious morale that exists at Morris. “I’ve worked at a few different printing companies. I’ve never worked anywhere where I’ve received so many fist bumps in one day.”
